On 23 September 2025, TikTok workers in Germany will launch an unprecedented four-day strike. TikTok plans to dissolve its Trust and Safety department, laying off its human content moderators. Their work is to be outsourced to external service providers and partially replaced by Artificial Intelligence. On 23 September, as part of the strike workers are organising a townhall meeting. On 25 September, workers will hold a strike rally at the labour court, as a court case will see TikTok aiming to establish the legal basis for dismissing workers without reaching an agreement with ver.di.
