Major (retd) Muzaffar Hossain was shown arrested yesterday in a crimes against humanity case linked to the July uprising following an order by the International Crimes Tribunal-2. The prosecution said investigators found evidence linking Muzaffar to the case during Masud Uddin’s interrogation and subsequently included him as an accused. The tribunal yesterday passed the order after the prosecution filed two petitions -- one to show Muzaffar arrested in the case, and another seeking permission to interrogate him. “We registered a miscellaneous case, arrested Masud Uddin Chowdhury in connection with it and interrogated him in safe custody. Aminul alleged that Muzaffar had close ties with Masud Uddin and maintained links with the then government.
