Disgraced mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was sentenced Friday to 50 months in prison after the judge said a long sentence was necessary to deter the Grammy-winner from engaging in future crimes involving violence, prostitution, and drugs. “This is not a person who has accepted responsibility,” prosecutor Christy Slavik told the sentencing hearing in a New York federal court. It’s as though he thinks the law doesn’t apply to him,” Slavik said in arguing for an 11-year prison sentence. Through tears and sniffles, Westmoreland called Combs an “inspiration” to the Black community and a social justice crusader.
