Carl Hester MBE is one of Britain’s most successful and influential dressage riders and trainers. A seven-time Olympian and Olympic gold medallist, Carl holds the joint record for the most Olympic appearances by a British athlete with Nick Skelton. For over three decades, he has helped shape the landscape of British dressage both in and out of the arena. Just 18 months after taking up dressage, Carl won the 1985 Young Dressage Rider Championship on the Fortune Centre’s skewbald mare, Jolly Dolly. Most recently, Carl competed Fame, winning team gold at the 2023 Europeans, team bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics and team silver at the 2025 Europeans.
