We're just a week away from the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and the rumor mill is working overtime. If there's any truth to them, Peter Parker could be headed for one of the biggest changes in the character's history. Instead of giving Peter his powers, the radioactive spider bite supposedly awakened abilities that had been dormant all along. One user, TheMegaWhopper, wrote: “Retconning Spider-Man into a mutant is bad and is gonna piss off A LOT of people.” None of that confirms Peter Parker is about to be revealed as a mutant, of course.
