A roadside confrontation turned into a criminal case in Canandaigua, where deputies arrested a man accused of threatening a woman with a baseball bat during a construction-related traffic dispute.
Steven C. Murphy, 37, was taken into custody Friday morning at his home on North Road after deputies executed an arrest warrant.
The charge stems from a September 4 incident, when a female driver reportedly became confused by traffic signs near a construction zone on North Road.
Investigators say Murphy walked into the roadway with a baseball bat, approached the woman’s vehicle, and yelled profanities about the road being one-way.
Deputies allege he then shoved the bat through her driver-side window and threatened to hit her, causing her to fear for her safety.
