Royal Caribbean plans to develop a new Mahahual K’iin Community Center, a gathering space designed to serve residents of Mahahual, Mexico. Its new name, Mahahual K’iin, which means “the sun of Mahahual,” was selected through a community vote. “Mahahual is an important community for Royal Caribbean, and the Mahahual K’iin Community Center reflects the long-term partnership we want to continue building here,” said Jason Liberty, chairman and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group. “The Mahahual K’iin Community Center is the result of the strength, participation and dreams of our community,” said Senaida Gómez, director of the Mahahual K’iin Community Center. Discussions for new locations between The Royal Caribbean Group and the Mexican Government are said to be underway.
