According to Wauseon fire chief Phil Kessler, a fire at a well site in Wauseon burned for about two days before being put out on Friday afternoon. During Monday’s meeting, Kessler gave city council an update on the situation, pointing out that it required about 600,000 gallons of water and assistance from multiple nearby fire departments to put out the fire.
