Residents in the region demonstrated outside the Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio board meeting on Wednesday morning, but due to rules, they were not allowed to speak to the board. The group wants the board to stop accepting detainees brought to it by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE). The group has grown and protested at the last few meetings. The board has moved its sessions from the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio detention facility in Stryker to the emergency operations headquarters in Defiance due to the protests. A few members of the group entered the building with the intention of addressing the board while the others stood outside with some signs.
