teacher lost their teaching certificate after sending a series of inappropriate texts to a student on Instagram about their “semi-nude photos.” Jeffrey Allan Jennens, a teacher at a school district in B.C., was teaching a vulnerable student that he “periodically texted with,” according to a Consent Resolution Agreement published by the British Columbia Commissioner for Teacher Regulation. Jennens texted with this student about school and about the student’s personal struggles. One day, when Jennens and the student were texting, he looked at their Instagram page and saw “semi-nude photos.” On June 22, 2026, Jennens entered into a consent resolution agreement with the Commissioner, admitting that his conduct “constitutes professional misconduct.”
