On Thursday, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed its attack on U.S. bases in Jordan was “a legal, religious and logical right,” saying the strikes targeted a country from which aggression against the Persian nation is being launched.
The IRGC emphasized that its offensive did not violate Jordanian sovereignty but was directed against “lands occupied by the U.S.
The Iranian military officials said the U.S. bases themselves violate Jordan’s territorial integrity because they operate under foreign laws and military control without supervision from local authorities.
Baqai specifically cited Article 18 of the War Crimes Act (U.S.C.
