Widdecombe's family said in a statement that a private service for close friends and family is to be held in addition to a public memorial planned for later in the year. "We understand that there is significant public interest in the funeral of Ann Widdecombe," they said. "A more public memorial will follow later in the year, the details of which will be released in due course. No date or venue has yet been confirmed for the public memorial.
