Kuwait City, July 23 (IANS) The Abdali border crossing - Kuwait’s northern land port with Iraq - was targeted by drones, causing material damage with no casualties.
“The Official Spokesman for the Ministry of Defence, Major General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, stated that the Abdali border crossing was subjected, this afternoon, to an attack by hostile drones, which resulted in material damage, with no human casualties recorded,” the Kuwait Army wrote on X.
He added that the specialised teams immediately began, upon the occurrence of the incident, to handle it and take the necessary measures to secure the site, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
“The inspection and disposal teams affiliated with the Land Force have also commenced survey and securing operations, and the removal of drone remnants, in accordance with approved technical procedures, to ensure the site's safety and freedom from any hazards,” the Kuwaiti Army stated on X.
Earlier in the day, Iran said that US bases and assets in Kuwait and Jordan were hit in a new round of its retaliation strikes, which inflicted personnel casualties and heavy military losses there.
