In a representation addressed to the Advisor for Social Welfare through the Director of the Department of Social Welfare, the employees said supporting staff under the Mission Shakti scheme have not received their salaries since September 2025, leaving them in severe financial distress. However, they said it was difficult to have confidence in the process as Mission Shakti employees in other states were receiving their salaries on time. They urged the Advisor and the Director of Social Welfare to intervene urgently and ensure the immediate release of their pending dues. The employees said Mission Shakti's objective is to empower women, but that goal cannot be achieved without supporting and sustaining the staff responsible for implementing the scheme. The representation, dated July 21, was submitted by "Concerned Mission Shakti Staff, Hub for Empowerment of Women", Kohima.
