Either way, it’ll take effect in 2027/28 after Walsh earns about $2.41MM this season in the final year of his first NBA contract. According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (Twitter link), the extension will be fully guaranteed for two years, with a team option for ’29/30. Walsh will become just the fifth player to sign a contract extension since the calendar flipped to July, including the fourth to sign a veteran extension.
