Proactive patrols result in stunt driving charge

Article contentOntario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducting proactive patrols stopped a driver travelling at dangerously high speeds in Arran-Elderslie.
On July 16 at 8:46 a.m., a member of the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team was patrolling Grey-Bruce Line in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie when a vehicle was observed travelling at 163 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
The vehicle was stopped, and the driver, a 22-year-old from Kitchener, was charged with drive motor vehicle – perform stunt and speeding 50-plus km/h over posted limit.
A 30-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment were initiated, with the driver facing a future court date.
