Prime Minister throws weight behind Meatco’s recovery and growth plan

The Right Honourable Prime Minister Dr Elijah Ngurare has expressed strong government backing for the Meat Corporation of Namibia’s (Meatco) recovery and growth strategy, reiterating the state’s dedication to bolstering the country’s livestock sector.
The visit included a tour of Meatco’s production facilities where the Prime Minister and his delegation engaged management and employees and observed first-hand the corporation’s processing operations and ongoing recovery initiatives.
Discussions further explored opportunities to strengthen Namibia’s processing capacity, for instance the future reopening of the Oshakati Abattoir and Cannery.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s support for efforts to strengthen Meatco as a strategic national institution that supports producers, creates employment, earns foreign exchange and contributes to national development.
