SRINAGAR: The Divisional Administration Kashmir on Thursday said that water levels in the Jhelum River are being monitored continuously as rainfall across the Valley has led to a rise in river levels, while urging people living near embankments not to panic.
The administration advised residents living along the river embankments to remain vigilant, follow advisories issued by the local administration, and avoid spreading or believing rumours.
People requiring assistance have been asked to contact the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), Srinagar, at 0194-2740003.
The advisory comes amid continuous rainfall across Kashmir that has led to rising water levels in the Jhelum and its tributaries.
Authorities have intensified monitoring and preparedness measures to respond swiftly to any emergency situation.
