These days, everyone’s got a grudge, a story of who wronged them and who they’re never going to forgive. Any opinion or experience that differs from ours is wrong and a personal assault, a slight against us. The willingness to try to understand another person’s truth, to accept that the person who we think “wronged” us has a different experience than ours, not right or wrong, just different. It stems from different conditioning, needs, and beliefs, and a different sense of what’s right—a different narrative. Just as our reality and opinions make complete sense in our mind, other people’s thoughts and opinions make sense in their mind.
