Investing.com -- Boeing secured 173 orders at the Farnborough Airshow this week, edging ahead of Airbus which booked 154 jets, as planemakers continue to navigate ongoing supply chain constraints and work through record order backlogs.
The combined total of 327 aircraft orders from both manufacturers fell below some external forecasts that predicted as many as 800 planes would be sold at the show.
After removing deals already recorded in manufacturer order books without named buyers, including Boeing's portion of the lessor order, the overall tally stood at 218 aircraft.
Regional aircraft manufacturer Embraer reported orders for 50 planes, including 20 freighters.
