Boom Radio has been shortlisted for a national business award after marking five years on air earlier this year. The station is a finalist in the Dext Small Business of the Year category at the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards 2026. Boom Radio Chief Executive Officer Phil Riley said the station had not previously entered a business event of this kind, having concentrated on developing the company since its launch. “We’ve never entered anything like this before, preferring just to keep our heads down and grow the business,” Phil said. Lloyds Business and Commercial Banking Chief Executive Officer Amanda Murphy said the awards celebrate businesses built through ambition, determination and innovation.
