Jordan said recently obtained documents contradict Smith’s testimony and amount to “strong evidence” of possible criminal conduct. Smith’s attorneys denied he lied, saying he “provided truthful, responsive answers and candidly discussed his work as Special Counsel.” “Jack Smith could not have lied because Republican Members never even asked the question their theory is based on,” Raskin said. The Justice Department confirmed it received the referral and said it “will investigate all evidence of criminal conduct.”
