The second-seeded Indianola baseball team won a state tournament game for the first time since 1969 with an 8-1 victory over seventh-seeded Southeast Polk yesterday. The Indians were fueled behind a dominating pitching performance from Junior George Blake which was topped off by the first no-hitter at the state tournament across all classes since 2020. Indianola scrapped another run across an inning later with RBI groundout from George Blake scoring Ryker Burgin. After that, George Blake scored on a wild pitch. However, the five baserunners in the game didn’t record a hit, giving Blake the rare feat and the complete game win 8-1.
