The Pleasantville Baseball team will take on Cascade in the Class 2A State Semifinals tonight at Merchants Park in Carroll. The #1 seeded Trojans are 33-1 on the season and are coming off a 10-0 run rule win over Ridge View in their state quarterfinals matchup Tuesday night. Pleasantville will look to continue their quest to win back to back state titles against the #4 seeded Cascade Cougars who are 28-1 on the year and are coming off a 2-1 win over Beckman Catholic in their quarterfinal matchup. Pleasantville is averaging 10.8 runs scored a game compared with the 10.6 of the Cougars and the Trojans are only giving up 1.1 runs per game compared with 1.9 runs a game for Cascade. Tonight’s contest in Carroll starts at 4:30 pm and can be heard live on 95.3 KNIA with the pregame starting at 4:15.
