Eleven (11) fishing vessels, representing a total investment of $475,000, were handed over to fishers in Soufriere on Friday, September 19. The vessels, constructed by five local contractors under a one-million-dollar contract, were provided to fishers whose livelihoods were impacted by Hurricane Maria, with the aim of providing them with safer, more functional spaces to operate and help sustain community livelihoods. The vessels were made available under the Emergency Agricultural Livelihoods and Climate Resilience Project through the Ministry of Blue and Green Economy, Agriculture, and National Food Security. “Eleven brand new fishing vessels representing a total investment of $475,000.
