Prime Minister appoints new Special Assistant on youth and disability

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit announced the appointment of a new Special Assistant dedicated to youth and disability affairs earlier today.
During a meeting, the Prime Minister personally engaged with Loik Charles, a young man who is legally blind and who the PM characterizes as “exceptionally talented Dominican with huge potential.”Loik Charles will join the Office of the Prime Minister as the Special Assistant on matters related to youth and disability, with his engagement officially beginning on October 1, 2025.
His appointment represents a significant and meaningful step forward for the differently-abled in Dominica, especially as it coincides with the International Day of Sign Languages, celebrated during the International Week of the Deaf.
Skerrit encouraged everyone to join in congratulating Loik Charles on this important milestone and to support his efforts in fostering a more inclusive society.
