At a meeting organised by Federated Farmers this month, Resource Management Minister Chris Bishop and Agriculture Minister Todd McClay heard from frustrated farmers. Waikato Federated Farmers meat and fibre group chair Reon Verry told the meeting that farmers aren't happy with the situation. "A whole lot of farmers that need resource consents which may then become redundant under the replacement for the RMA. Bishop told farmers that an "entirely new planning system" is coming, with different rules and a much more permissive and liberal approach.
