The Food and Drug Administration has approved Amneal’s bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.01% (2.5 ml, 5 ml and 7.5 ml), which is the generic of Allergan’s Lumigan. Bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.01% is a prostaglandin analog indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. “We are pleased to add another key ophthalmic therapy to our affordable medicines portfolio,” said Srinivas Kone, senior vice president, chief scientific officer of affordable medicines.
