French President Emmanuel Macron and Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening political and economic cooperation during talks at the Élysée Palace in Paris on Monday, 20 July 2026.
The two countries signed several cooperation agreements during the visit, although officials did not immediately disclose the full details of the deals.
French mining company Eramet, through its Gabonese subsidiary Comilog, also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Gabonese government to expand local manganese processing.
Ahead of the visit, Gabonese presidency spokesperson Theophane Nzame-Nze Biyoghe said the meeting would review progress on agreements reached during President Macron’s visit to Libreville in November 2025.
The trip marks President Oligui Nguema’s second official visit to France since assuming office.
