The Brief A wrong-way driver traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway in Hawthorne caused a multi-vehicle crash early Tuesday, killing one person. The California Highway Patrol reported the black sedan reached speeds of 80 mph near Imperial Highway just a minute before the collision occurred south of Rosecrans Avenue.
