Colin Firth has been announced to star in a biographical film based on eccentric sex therapist Dr Alex Comfort.
Colin will play The Joy Of Sex author opposite Julianne Moore as Ruth Harris – the academic’s long-suffering wife whose marriage crumbled after publication of the erotic manual in 1972.
For Nick is the only child of the late Dr Alex Comfort; author of The Joy Of Sex, the ground-breaking erotic manual with which his name became synonymous.
Half a century ago, The Joy Of Sex caused a similar public furore, yet today its message seems affectingly moral.
Dr Comfort, also a fervent advocate of free speech, would have been 'exasperated' by the current stifling of academic debate on transgender issues.
