Senior Sergeant Bronwyn Matthews, Auckland City East, says the vehicle was signalled to stop, but the driver ignored instruction and continued heading southbound. “Spikes were deployed as the vehicle left State Highway 1 near Bombay,” Senior Sergeant Matthews says. Senior Sergeant Matthews says the group put everyone on the road at risk. A 15-year-old male will appear in Auckland Youth Court today, charged with unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and failing to stop.
