UK weather: Dry weather continues, but could this weekend finally bring the rain many areas need? Most places should stay dry overnight with clear spells, although northern Scotland continues to see patchy rain and Northern Ireland could also catch the odd shower. Cloud will once again be most extensive across northern and eastern areas during the morning before breaking up to allow sunny spells to develop more widely. It will be a cloudier start for some eastern areas, with one or two light showers possible near the east coast and perhaps drifting a little farther inland. Temperatures will again reach around 26°C across central and southern England, while eastern Scotland enjoys pleasantly warm conditions around 20°C to 21°C.
