The OPP says an incident in North Bay on the weekend highlights ongoing public safety concerns related to roadside solicitation in high-traffic areas. Provincial Police report a person panhandling suffered non-life-threatening head injuries after a collision with a pick-up truck. The OPP says the initial investigation revealed the pedestrian entered a live lane of traffic while vehicles had the right of way. Police say the injured person fled the scene, with the OPP Canine Unit called in to help find them. The person was later located at a nearby restaurant, assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital.
