City police say charges have been laid after investigating multiple acts of vandalism downtown over the past four and a half months. They say effective video surveillance supported the investigation, noting officers will continue to actively monitor, investigate, and address similar incidents. “We’re out in the downtown core every day, and we take pride in making our community spaces cleaner and safer,” says Insp. “We want to support our hardworking local business owners and reduce unnecessary damage to public spaces. By maintaining well-kept, welcoming areas, we also help deter criminal activity, and we’ll continue holding those responsible accountable.”The accused was arrested and later released on an Undertaking with a Dec. 16 court appearance.
