For years, I've called these two forms of cognition different axes, not different points on the same scale. Human cognition develops inside a consequence structure built from memory, responsibility, and the possibility of loss. To be clear, this isn't a claim that AI is deceptive. A judgment doesn't just inform the next decision. And in this context, AI has outputs and humans have biographies.
