Berw Road Car Park to close permanently as major Pontypridd regeneration moves forwardBerw Road Car Park in Pontypridd will permanently close later this month as Rhondda Cynon Taf Council prepares to begin the next phase of a major town centre regeneration project. The Council has confirmed the car park will shut at 7pm on Thursday, July 30, with demolition work on the former police station and car park site expected to begin in early August. Drivers are being reminded to remove all vehicles before the car park closes, as it will remain shut from Friday, July 31. The Council says more than 1,000 alternative parking spaces are available nearby at Catherine Street, Gas Road, Millfield Road, Goods Yard and Sardis Road, all within a short walk of the town centre. Councillor Mark Norris, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Housing, described the closure as “an important next step” in transforming a key town centre site.
