Speaking to Rising Kashmir, the Deputy Commissioner said the administration is closely monitoring the situation and urged people to stay away from Nallah Sukhnag and other flood-prone areas. He said that a shopping complex in Beerwah town collapsed due to the high water level, highlighting the seriousness of the situation. DC Budgam said that SHOs, field officers and rescue teams are continuously monitoring the situation and advising residents in vulnerable areas to evacuate wherever necessary as a precautionary measure. Appealing for public cooperation, DC Budgam urged people to remain indoors unless absolutely necessary and avoid visiting nallahs, embankments, breached spots and other flood-prone areas. He also cautioned against gathering near water bodies out of curiosity, warning that such actions could endanger lives.
