Thousands of people will be heading to Coloma next Friday and Saturday for the annual Coloma Glad Peach Festival. Event President Jen Schreier tells us the festival started out as the Glad Festival, referencing gladiolus, but later became the Glad Peach Festival to acknowledge the delicious peaches grown around the area. “Every year they try to come up with kind of a theme and last year it was Bringing Back the Peach Fest,” Schreier said. Schreier says the North Berrien Historical Society will be set up downtown with all kinds of memorabilia from Peach Fests past. That’s the Coloma Glad Peach Festival Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1.
