State Department identifies DSA as willing vector of Cuban influence in U.S.Just the news ^ | 07/20/2026 | Steven RichardsPosted on by DFGThe State Department on Monday warned that the Democratic Socialists of America serves as a willing vector of Cuban Communist influence in the United States, bolstered by a network of organizations tied to Cuban intelligence.
In June, the State Department sanctioned ICAP for “being a political subdivision, agency, or instrumentality of” Cuba.
“ICAP is a Cuban organization founded by Fidel Castro in 1960 that supports Cuban intelligence and counterintelligence activities,” the State Department said in that announcement.
Participation in Cuba-aligned American activist networkThe DSA also solicits donations to “support the struggle to dismantle the U.S. empire,” the State Department report notes.
The People’s Forum was also identified by the State Department as a component of Cuba’s influence network in the United States.
