I would like to build a live edge coffee table. The ambrosia maple slab I selected has bark edges at a 20 degree angle. Both sides of the slab have beautiful grains. Should I present the slab with the angled edge pointing up (so the table size is maximized) or angle down so the edge can be seen. Also wondering since the edge angle is so sharp I was going to spoke shave it some so it’s a bit safer.
