Belfast schoolboy Dáithí Mac Gabhann has received the heart transplant he and his family have been waiting almost eight years for.
The nine-year-old, from Ballymurphy in west Belfast, was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and had been on the transplant waiting list since 2018.
In a three-part message posted to X, Donate4Dáithí said: “Dáithí has received the gift of a heart transplant.
“Organ donation is the greatest gift anyone can give.
The Mac Gabhann family became known across Northern Ireland and beyond for their campaign to change the law on organ donation.
