The International Chess Federation (FIDE) will launch the first World Total Chess Championship in Budapest, a tournament that will combine classical, rapid and blitz modalities to crown the most complete player. From November 10 to 21, Budapest will host the first edition of the Total Chess World Championship. This Total Chess World Championship Tour will consist of four events throughout the year in different cities, bringing together the 24 highest-ranked players. ♟ The FIDE Council has approved a series of significant changes to the format of the 2027 FIDE World Cup and the 2027 FIDE Women’s World Cup, following recommendations from the Global Strategy Commission.
