African Health Authorities Urge U.S. to Lift Travel Restrictions to Uganda Amid Ebola Outbreak

The director of the Africa CDC, Jean Kaseya, asked the United States government to remove travel restrictions to Uganda after recording a month without new Ebola infections.

Photo: WHOThe Director-General of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), Jean Kaseya, formally requested that U.S. Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr. lift the travel restrictions imposed on Uganda.
“There is no reason for the United States to continue with this travel restriction,” the Director-General stated.
The United States maintains entry restrictions for travelers from the DRC and certain areas of Uganda and South Sudan, measures implemented in May and tightened last week.
