The city of Sanibel is seeking volunteers to assist with A Field of Heroes. Commemorating the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on 9/11, the community tribute will feature 2,977 American flags — one for each life lost — on display through Sept. 11 at the Sanibel Community Park. To prepare the flags for installation, volunteers will assist with attaching laminated name tags to each flag using small zip ties. For more information, call the center at 239-472-0345.
