From Snyder To The Bright LightsPowers Allen Boothe was born on June 1st, 1948, in Snyder, Texas, about 90 miles southeast of Lubbock. His father was a rancher, and Boothe attended Snyder High School before earning a bachelor's degree from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University). Even after finding success in Hollywood, Boothe never lost the calm, grounded confidence that seemed to come naturally to people raised on the South Plains. For those of us in West Texas, his story feels a little more personal. He wasn't just another Hollywood actor.
