Shafqna English- Egypt has officially launched a national Artificial Intelligence Competency Framework for Teachers, becoming one of the first countries to adopt a nationally tailored AI framework based on UNESCO’s global guidelines to support the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into education. The framework was unveiled on June 3 through a partnership between UNESCO and Egypt’s Ministry of Education and Technical Education as part of the country’s broader digital transformation strategy. Designed specifically for Egypt’s education system, it aims to equip teachers with the knowledge, practical skills and ethical understanding needed to use artificial intelligence effectively in classrooms. The framework emphasizes that AI should enhance—not replace—the role of teachers. It promotes responsible, human-centered and ethical use of artificial intelligence while encouraging critical thinking, inclusion, creativity and personalized learning.
