This article argues that the principal challenge confronting the Naga national movement is not the existence of political diversity. In my assessment, this has been one of the principal constitutional challenges confronting the Naga national movement. First: The NNC Was Founded as a National Institution, Not an Ideological PartyThe first reason concerns the constitutional character of the Naga National Council itself. The history of the Naga national movement demonstrates that institutional multiplication has rarely produced greater national unity. Within that framework, however, all organisations should become constituent members of a reformed Naga National Council.
