The Livestock and Livestock Products Board of Namibia (LLPBN) reported a mixed performance for small stock during June, with sheep marketing experiencing significant growth while goat marketing posted a decline. South Africa remained the dominant destination for live sheep exports, accounting for 97.60% (75,861 head) of total live exports. The remaining market share was captured by Angola with 0.76% of total live exports, comprising mainly breeding sheep and other sheep, while Tanzania accounted for 1.58%, primarily comprising sheep exported, together with a small number of breeding sheep. South Africa also remained the dominant destination for live goat exports, accounting for 78.65% (3,714 head) of total live exports. Local slaughter decreased significantly by 88.01% to 38 year-on-year, accounting for only 0.82% of total goat marketing.
