Jammu Kashmir Ministers Announce Rs 9.53 Crore Relief Package for Flood-Hit Rajouri

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Ministers Javed Ahmed Rana and Satish Sharma on Tuesday visited flood-hit Rajouri, reviewed the relief and restoration efforts, and announced an immediate package of around Rs 9.53 crore to strengthen water supply infrastructure and restore essential public services in the district.
They reviewed the arrangements made by the District Administration, including accommodation, food, drinking water, healthcare and other essential services.
Following the review, Minister Javed Ahmed Rana announced a series of measures to restore water infrastructure and improve essential services.
These include the establishment of Rs 20 minor water supply schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore, installation of transformers at 10 water supply locations costing Rs 1 crore procurement of Rs 1,000 water storage crates worth Rs 1 crore, purchase of five dewatering pumps costing around Rs 2.5 lakh, provision of five 125 KVA generator sets at an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh, and Rs crore for the restoration of damaged water supply schemes.
The Minister said the interventions were aimed at providing immediate relief to affected residents and expediting the restoration of essential public services.
